After Sengga Zhadui had lost his battle, Prince Tori Mepa wanted to enter the field. Tolha Zhadui agreed because he thought that Tori, who was highly skilled in martial arts, wouldn’t lose as easily. Moreover, staying in the city also meant waiting for death.
Seeing her son Tori leaving the city, Queen Tegar Bezin cried her heart out.
The fact that the Chayo prince went into battle made Gesar both pleased and worried. On the one hand, the Chayo capital would be captured as long as the prince could be beaten; on the other hand, if the prince won, all the efforts that the Ling troops had made would be for nothing. Chatsa understood Gesar’s mind completely, saying:
“Lion King, don’t worry. I descended to the Earth to defeat the Prince of Chayo. So we are certain to win.”
Meanwhile, Tori Mepa had pushed forward into the Ling camp like a hurricane. With a sabre in his left hand and a sword in his right hand, he moved so quickly and violently that lots of Ling soldiers had been killed before they realized what was happening.
Finding that Tori Mepa was not only young and handsome but also had outstanding martial arts. Gesar was genuinely fond of him and told the Ling generals not to hurt the prince.
Chatsa threw his divine lasso at Tori. As he was not aware of this, the prince was lassoed easily. He did his best to cut it away with his sabre and his sword, but in vain.
Chatsa brought Tori down from his horse, tied him up and carried him to Gesar’s tent. Gesar himself performed a ceremony for Tori Mepa to wash away his sins, and untied him.
The Chayo prince was so moved by the kindness of the Lion King that he surrendered at once. Gesar then kept Tori beside him.
Upon learning that Tori Mepa had been captured alive, Sengga Zhadui went to fight the Ling troops. Chatsa sent Zhalha to meet the rivals head-on in battle. After several rounds neither of them were winning. Zhalha pointed his sabre at Sengga while silently praying for the Buddhist Guardian’s help. Suddenly, a flame shot out from his sabre and the demon general was reduced to ashes.
In the Chayo capital, only King Tolha Zhadui had not gone to battle. However, not listening to his wife and officials, the king went alone to fight the Ling troops with an axe and some sharp arrows which were created by his magicians.
When told of this, Gesar gave a derisory snort, and shot a divine arrow at the demon king. With a cry of pain, Tolha Zhadui fell dead.
Gesar entered the city at the head of his troops. Chayo was rich in treasures, including agate, diamonds, coral and jade, and had a beautiful ornamental sceptre. There were also large quantities of grain and weapons stored inside the city. Gesar opened all the stores to the people.
Tegar Bezin, Queen of the Chayo State, told Gesar that the best treasure house was the one, which had never been opened. Gesar was very pleased to hear this and the Chayo queen then led him to a rocky hill. After the position of the entrance to the store had been ascertained, Gesar sat quietly on folded legs, praying to the Buddhist Guardian to help open the treasure store. Instantly, the rock split open and ten white-lipped mules came rushing out and these were followed by thousands of other mules. The total came to 990,000.
Leaving some of the mules to the Chayo people, the Lion King used the rest to carry the Chayo treasures back to Ling. Prince Tori Mepa was left to look after the affairs of Chayo. From then on, Chayo, which used to be ruled by a demon king, had a kind-hearted ruler.
As Chatsa had finished his mission on the Earth, he returned to Heaven riding on a rainbow. Prince Zhalha wanted to go with his father, but it was impossible for him as he was a mortal. He fell on his knees praying to his father in Heaven to bless him, the Ling people and the early completion of the undertaking of the Ling State to defeat all the demons in the world. He expected to meet his father in Heaven.
