Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctor worry about them. That’s why you pay him or her.
Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches① pull you down.
Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. “An idle mind is the devil’s workshop. And the devil’s name is Alzheimer②.”
Enjoy the simple things.
Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath.
Let the tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be alive while you are alive.
Surround yourself with what you love, whether it’s family, pets, keepsakes③, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
Don’t take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, to the next country, to a foreign country, but not to where the guilt is.
Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
And always remember: Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

享受简单的事物。
经常微笑,笑久一些,笑大声一点,笑到自己前仰后合。
学会流泪。忍耐,悲伤,然后痛苦一场。伴随我们整个生命的只有我们自己,所以,活着的时候要像个活着的人。
让你珍爱的东西伴你左右,不管是家庭、宠物、纪念品、音乐、植物、嗜好,还是其它任何事物。你的家才是你的避风港。
爱惜你的身体。如果你是健康的,要珍惜;如果你的健康状况不稳定,要去改善它;如果你的健康状况你自己无法改善,那么,去寻求帮助。
不要误入歧途。你可以去购物区,去到你的邻邦,去一个陌生的国度,但你不能走向罪恶。
抓住每一个机会,告诉你爱的人:你爱他们。
千万记住:度量生命的不是呼吸的次数,而是那些最最难忘的时刻。
