It is right in this way that Yang has devoted all his deep love to the poet friends he knows and admires.As he has portrayed what we are familiar with，we would have such a cordial feeling as if we are facing some close friends when reading his poems.For instance，when he wrote in memory of a great poet Hai Zi，he seemed to utter a heavy sigh from the bottom of his heart：a lonely child who has never grown up seeking bitterly there for his shadow sunk into the mud.So every March what we can do is just observe the alternate tide with a rising wind and scudding clouds tasting the sadly moving of looking toward the sea with flowers blooming in the warm spring.The words of “cette mélancolie”are Yang’s precise and penetrating crystallization of the overall style of Hai Zi’s poetry.
这说明作者对诗歌拥有独到的悟性，他能用如此精练的语言提升和表达他的审美感受。与“凄美”相近似，他对一时沸沸扬扬的关于“梨花体”的议论，仅仅用了一个句子，就精到地超越了别人：“其实一瓣梨花足以证明一个季节”。〔见“当代诗人群雕”第58首《一瓣梨足以证明一个季节》〕他认为，春天本来就是万象更新的日子，本来就不需要太多的诠释。要说这是对赵丽华诗的论争的回应的话，这个回应是相当智慧的。
This proves that the author has his own original comprehension of poetry，so he could enhance and express his aesthetic experiences with such a succinct language.Similar to his summary of Hai Zi’s poems with such a word “cette mélancolie”，with just a short sentence he expresses his views upon the once widespread comments about “the pear style of poem”and outdoes the others with his precise and penetrating line “One Petal Pear Flower Speaks Well for One Season”.For him，spring is originally the season when all things have their new start does not need to be analyzed too much.If it is his response to the hot debates on Zhao Lihua’s poems，the response is fairly wise.
杨春生的这些诗，一般写得都很随意，有些诗还流露出某种“玩世不恭”的神情，例如“其实打个滚儿就是一首诗”〔见“当代诗人群雕”第067首：《其实打个滚儿就是一首诗》。〕，再如054首：“这些啤酒罐醉了一排黄昏”。后面这首诗的对象是一个群体：“致我的南方和北方的诗友们”，他和他的朋友们从南方一路喝到北方：“从蓝月亮升起喝到红月亮升起，一直喝得老巢长发飘飘”，“这时的安琪就脸色绯红，整一朵五月桃花挂在诗歌的枝头”。这就有点“知章骑马似乘船”〔杜甫《饮中八仙歌》句：“知章骑马似乘船，眼花落井水底眠。”见《唐宋诗醇》（上）第562页。春风文艺出版社，1995年4月。〕的味道了。
Generally these poems of Yang’s are all written in an arbitrary way，some of which are overflowing with an air of cynicism，such as the poem entitled “Making a Simple Roll could be a Poem”，or Poem 54“These beers get drunk successive evenings –dusk after dusk”，whose object is a group of people with the subtitle “deliver to my poet friends from both south and north China”.So Yang and his friends drink all the way from the South to the North：“they drink as the blue moon rises till the red sun rises，till the Old Nest’s hair is floating in the air”“then Angel’s faces turns rosy like a sweet-scented peach flower in May blooming in the branch of poetry”，which has a flavor of ancient verse “after drinking he rides a horse swaying，as if in a boat in the waves sailing”.
但就在这些文字的背后，往往隐藏着一份难得的庄重，例如他献给年轻诗人海海的诗，他说到，当野菜变成美食的时候，当它变成食谱上一道风景的时候，就意味着人开始任意阉割自然，就是社会的后退了。这时他一反“常态”，变得有点义正词严——
However，usually a portion of precious decency just conceals itself behind these words.For example，in the poem he dedicated to Hai Hai，a young poet，he wrote that when wild herbs become rare delicacy and scenery in the menu，it means that people begin to castrate nature casually and the society is not evolving but degrading.At that moment，his departure from normal behaviors turns into some assertion out of justice.
这是一个除了索取
更需要奉献的时代
是需要每一个人
都默默地做一些事情
而不需要整个社会都知道的时代〔见“当代诗人群雕”070首：《当野菜变成美食的时候》。〕
This is the time of devotion
Besides demanding
This is the time of things being done quietly
By everyone
Rather than making a song about everything
这里的现世关怀的情结就让我感动。更有甚者，有时面对社会的弊端和陋习，他也会有难以抑制的愤怒，例如他与西川谈论批判现实主义问题的那一篇，就对北京市民挖苦的“大裤衩”的火灾事件表达了深刻的批判：焦点访谈，用纳税人的钱，养大的中国最大嘴，对一场发生在中国的，影响最恶劣的火灾——避而不谈！
A kind of mundane concern here really touches me.Furthermore，sometimes when faced with social defects and drawbacks，his wrath which is hard to restrain will burst forth.For instance，in the poem where he discussed the critical realism of poetry with Professor Xi Chuan，he expressed his own profound opinions upon the big fire on 2009Lantern Festival of the CCTV new site that is called jokingly by Beijing citizens：Topics in Focus，China’s biggest current affairs program supported by all the taxpayers，avoids uttering a single word about the most odious fire disaster happening in China.
杨春生本身就如他的这一本诗集，随性，洒脱，丰富，有时大大咧咧，有时深沉得近于严肃。这本诗集，他的本意是在写朋友，但却是意外地让我们认识了一个活生生的杨春生！
Actually Yang himself is just like his own poetry anthology，so carefree and abundant；sometimes he is very casual while sometimes he becomes so deep or even nearly solemn.In this poetry anthology，his original intention is to write about his friends；however，in reading we will surprisingly find a lively Yang.

From Group Statues：108Contemporary Chinese Poets Statue 15：Sea in My Heart.The subtitle of this poem is “A memorial poem to Hai Zi on his 20th anniversary of his death”，and at the end of the poem the author added “completed with tears in my own study on March 26，2009”with a note going “It is hard for me to cry but after finishing this poem，I cried heart-brokenly.They are the tears from a man to another man for poetry.At the moment I want to drink”.
