After Mildred died in 1916, Patty, together with a third sister named Jessica, discussed the issue together and took Mr Coleman to court. In court, they proved that they, indeed, owned the melody. The court finally decided that the family legally owns the song, whenever it is sung for commercial purposes.

When and where can you see Andy Lau and CoCo Lee together? In 2010, in Shanghai! Many pop stars gathered to sing Smile, Shanghai-the theme song for 2010 Shanghai World Expo-and recently shot a music video for it.
Released1 in late December last year, the MV took more than two months to produce. Along with Andy Lau and CoCo Lee, the MV also features pop stars including Jane Zhang, Cheer Chan, Jam Hsiao and JJ Lam. Hong Kong musician Keith Chan is the producer of the project.
In the MV, each singer wears a white Tshirt and shows a warm smile while singing. They also spread the message of global conservation and “saving the environment” by passing around a 3D blue Earth. With computer effects, landmark2 buildings of many major cities around the world are shown. There are also images of major pavilions3 at the Shanghai Expo. According to Keith Chan, the MV shows that “humans, cities and Earth share the same warmness”.
At the end of the video, every singer uses a special hand sign to draw smiles in the air. Every smile changes into Haibao, the Expos mascot4.
The singers shot the MV in different cities. So the production team had to fly around to cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Hong Kong and Taipei. Nobody complained. Although every singer sang just a few lines in the song, most of them shot different versions5 of their parts for the convenience of the production.
The MV will be the everpresent background music to the Shanghai 2010 World Expo. Lets enjoy it!

Different types of music may make you cry, laugh, or even feel anger. According to researches, music is a complex1 sound that causes a large variety of emotional2 responses in listeners.
The nature of emotions created by music has been a matter of much debate. Researches have showed that basic emotions, such as happiness, anger, fear, and sadness, can be recognized in and created by musical stimuli3 in humans.
I know from experience that when I am in a bad mood, Ill listen to my favorite CD. I dont know what it is about the music but it just makes me feel better almost immediately. All of you have CDs or songs that make you feel great when youre feeling down. Music has that power and none of us realize that until we really think about it. The physical effects that music has on us are almost the same as the emotional ones.
Music can change you in many ways, depending on the kind of music you are listening to. According to “Music and Emotions”, electronic4 music with loud sounds will physically affect you more easily than any other type of music. Certain types of music can give you courage and strengthen your willpower, while other types can make you relaxed. I can think of a good example for music bringing willpower and strength to you, when you are getting ready before a sport. The sport I play is football and I know that if I dont listen to a certain mix of songs, my head is all over the place. If I listen to some certain songs I become very energized and feel better about things. Music affects your emotions in many ways. It also affects your physical status. Music also is the key to your enjoying of a movie. Music affects your emotions by being able to change your state of mind from a sad mood to a happy one. It can also make a person feel great before a competition. Music is also the key to movies. Without music in movies there would be no suspense5, no horror and no excitement. It makes movies what they are to us.
