我通篇都在强调手中的笔解决问题的奇妙力量。想要改进自己用眼睛思考的技巧,笔记本、餐巾纸和白板应该是很好的工具。尽管如此,现在计算机在处理、存储、编辑信息和交流沟通方面的出色能力让我们大多数人的工作几乎都必须依赖它进行。
所以,当现在的笔记本电脑在硬件软件上都已经成熟到允许即兴的同屏绘画、简单的图像编辑处理以及快速共享,我建议那些喜欢用眼睛思考的人们,如果你总是“挪窝”,最好添置一部中档的数码相机(什么牌子的都行),或者添置一部便携式平面扫描器(好的品牌和型号很多,比如佳能、惠普等等)。一旦你的旅行包里有了这样的设备,你就可以随时随地画图,将它转化为数据存储起来,并且—用最基本的图像处理软件—在很短时间内清理、修改、注释、保存、打印图像,用电邮发出和展示你的大作。
我很想将压感式数据绘图板作为一种视觉化思考工具推荐给大家,但我个人认为,比起带个扫描仪来说,它麻烦得多。除非你要创作复杂的、有艺术性的图像,否则比起铅笔和纸来,压感式绘图板会带给你更多的麻烦。
如果你必须创建那种只能用软件创建的图(你常常不得不如此,尤其是那些涉及定量的、数据繁多的、多层级的图),我建议使用下列软件(每一条都是按照从初学者到一般商务人士再到熟练使用者的顺序安排的):
1.画像:Microsoft PowerPoint,Apple Keynote,Adobe Illustrator
2.表格:Microsoft Excel、Microsoft PowerPoint,Apple Keynote,Adobe Illustrator
